February

  • International Karpacz Winter School in Theoretical Physics (ITP, since 1964) . It is 10-14 days school of theoretical physics, with topics' focus changing every year however, related to the research interest of the ITP members. It is truly international event with the number of participants span: 90-150. The School takes place in a beautiful mountain skiing resort. For three decades, since sixties till eighties, the Winter School was a one of very rare occasions for physicists from the West and East to meet and discuss in person.
As a roule the proceedings of the conference are published. The homepage of the actual edition is here.

September

  • Max Born Symposium (ITP, since 1991) An international symposium on theoretical physics. It is organized in various localization: at Wroclaw or in nearby attractive country sites (let us mention only one: mediewal Wojnowice castle). Size of this symposium is oscillationg around fifty participants. Very attractive event with annualy changing topic. As a roule the proceedings of the conference are published. The homepage of the actual edition is here.

  • International Workshop on Surface Physics (IEP, since 2003) The Workshop takes place at beautiful town Polanica Zdroj. The goal of the workshop is to enable the review and discussion of the current state and perspectives of the surface physics. The number of lectures is between ten and fifteen. The homepage of the actual edition is here.

  • Autumn School on Physics Didactic (IEP, since 1975) The participation of academic staff and physics teachers from different schools and foreign guests makes that the School has become a forum integrating different groups working on physics didactics. Every edition of the School concentrates on different particular issues of didactics. For many years the School was the first source of information for Polish teachers about new methods in physics didactic implemented abroad - in Europe and other parts of the world.

Other parts of the year

  • Polish Seminar on Positron Annihilation (IEP, since 1966) It is an international event, scientists from Poland and the whole world take part in it. From the mid-1980s, the every second year the SPA is organized with participation of foreigners. The topic of the conference includes both theoretical and experimental questions, concerning the positron annihilation phenomenon and its use to study matter. It is essentialy inter-disciplinary. Among pariticipants you can find: physicists, chemists, geologists and technologists. Proceedings of the conference are published as special volumes of Acta Physica Polonica A.

  • School of Ferroelectrics Physics (IEP) This international school is devoted to the contemporary problems of ferroelectrics physics, phase transitions and related phenomena in crystals and ceramics. It takes place in various beautiful sites of the Sudety Mountains.
